The Dental Chamber of Macedonia came into existence in 1995
after separating from the Macedonian Doctor's Chamber.
The idea of founding a separate professional association of dentists arose in
the turbulent years of system transition, which was the right moment for the
dental profession to obtain appropriate status in the society.
The Dental Chamber of Macedonia is an independent, non-political
and non-profit organization, associating the dentists for the purpose of promotion
of their expertness, ethical duties and rights, improvement of the quality of
dental care and protection of interests of the dental profession.
The membership is compulsory, sets up and acknowledges the fulfillment
of regulations for performing dental practice.
Aims and objectives:
- To follow and supervise the rules of medical ethics and deontology
and take actions in case of their violation.
- To promote and support continuous professional education for
which purpose it organizes seminars, courses, congresses and other forms of
improvement of professional skills.
- To negotiate with the Ministry of Health Care and the Health
Insurance Fund for the prices of dental services and extent to which the service
is covered by the Fund
The Dental Chamber is also entitled to negotiate with the Ministry
of Health Care for reforms in the system of health care and health insurance,
give suggestions for the changes in the health legislation in order to protect
the interests of its members and to improve the standard of the dental healthcare
in the country.
It fights with all kinds of unauthorized, illegal performing
of dental care, in inadequate conditions and with insufficient skills.
The Dental Chamber of Macedonia is regular member of:
- FDI (International Dental Federation)
- BaSS (Balkan Stomatological Society)
- participates in the meetings of the Association of the
Dentist's Chambers of Central European Countries
