At the moment when you hold in your hands the latest issue of Dentitia,
for many of you, the exam term will have been already finished, and
at least for a while have forgotten about your enemy number one - stage
fright. But the very next month, the same story repeats. Where to find
yourself? Maybe you will find yourself among those who have a desire
to oversleep the days of exam term and to wake up when everything is
over. Someone has a fright in spite of the well-learnt material, someone
starts to panic every time he/she thinks of the moment in front of professor,
someone has butterflies in his/her stomach just by reading his/her name
on the scheduled exam lists, and finally, someone gets that filling
at the moment of getting the exam questions.
Regardless of the
category you belong to, let us admit that stage fright is enough to
paralyze us, to block us, to horrify us and to obstruct us during the
exam. How to help ourselves?
If you belong to those students who panic even before everything starts,
the sole advice would be to reject the thought every time it strikes
your mind. A good way to carry this out is to fill your brain with
numerous data taken from the books in front of you. And with one shot
you will kill two birds by self-engagement you will get rid of unpleasant
thought in your head, and you will have covered the material foreseen
for the exam.
If you find yourself among those students who at every exam term lack
at least one day, then most likely, something is wrong with your organization
of time and activities. You will probably lack one more day on the
day of your wedding. Tricks that could help you: convince yourself
that you are going for exam on the 19th, in stead of 26th! That is
how to be prepared one week earlier and you will have time for going
over the material once again.
There are also unfortunate students who are blocked when they get
the exam questions. At the moment they are inhibited, in dreadful
panic, they need air… If we understand panic as a combination of fear
and unconfidence. We should strive towards good training so as to
reduce the fear and to work on our confidence. You will achieve this
easily, if you ask someone in front of whom you do not have stage
fright (a friend of yours, your girlfriend or boyfriend, your flatmate)
to ask you questions.
So you need to hear
your voice, your own way of expression. Every time it will be better,
until the moment when no one can stop you in expressing yourself.A lot
of success in all exams terms. Wishes
